A post about myself

So, I feel kinda uncomfortable writing this blog post. This very well might be a short lived post type. Fashion. Lets start from the beginning, when I was younger I didn’t care about fashion at all. I went through the normal stages, Tomboy, whatever is clean, then I really embraced the “I’m a snowboarder” look for awhile. But as I grew older I started to care about fashion more. And obviously working at the antique store gave me cause to embrace vintage looks. And all my garaging and thrifting helped me see clothes in a new light. I like to boast about how little I paid and know that I could hold my own and look good really inexpensively. So here goes, my delving into (cringe) fashion blogging.

Partially, I’m starting now because I was incredibly inspired by some local bloggers, whom I the pleasure of meeting up with last week {all of whom are incredibly fashionable.) Partially my obsession with Pinterest has fueled it. And partially because I’ve actually taken a few pictures lately to submit to what I’m wearing at work a local AZ blog that recently started. (WIWAW is a no faces kinda blog, so please excuse my expression in some of these, kinda thought my head would be cropped out) Now that I work somewhere where jeans are a no-no except for fridays, and people actually get ready. I’ve been trying to figure out a style that feels me, is unique and eclectic and is more than jeans, tank and flip-flops. So this post is a photo dump of all the photos I have taken of my outfits in 2012. I’ll be posting more in the future…probably.

  • I’ll include prices when I remember them, and stores if its applicable.
  • If I don’t mention an item, it means I have already
  • “Steph” means it was one of the many items left to me when my fabulous sister in law moved to New Zealand and gave me all the clothes she couldn’t fit within the 100lb weight limit
  • “YS” means yard sale of course!
  • Unless mentioned, all belts were from my grandma, she gave me a ton of cool belts and clutches about a year ago

Black, white and houndstooth:

I got some of those Sally Hansen nails for christmas and once I put them on, I decided to go all Black and White.
{Pants:H&M, Shoes:Steve Madden Girls, Shirt: Steph, vest: thrifted, Necklace: YS $1}

Patriotic:

I went red, white and blue this day at work (a friday) because it was a spring training celebration and we were supposed to wear team colors, I soon realized I have zero sports memorabilia so I went with USA colors!
{Jeans: Joe’s Jeans bought at Loehmann’s $28, Shoes:Red Toms $35, Shirt: Marshalls, Jacket: Target $15ish? Necklace: YS $1, Purse: vintage coach YS $3, Belt: thrifted}

Yellow blazer:

I found some awesome jackets and cardigans at a YS a few weeks ago, one of them was this yellow blazer, only $4 and they were from Anthropologie! Ah I love rich people that sell their old things for cheap.
{Pants: Express $30ish, Shoes: Michael Kors (Last Chance), Shirt: Victoria’s secret, Marshalls, Necklace: YS $1}

Menswear, some lace and a corduroy vest

 Man, these photos suck, hopefully I will get better at using my actual camera…and maybe a backdrop other than the ladies room wha…?

Plaid, Sweater vest and Chambray
 Yep, just when you thought that was the worst of my iphone photos, enter even lower lighting.  These were non-work casual outfits, in the first two it was definitely colder out. The third is my trying out the Chambray trend, I like it and considering it is a $2 investment, if it goes out tomorrow, I’ll be glad I didn’t invest this much!

Stripes and a hint:
I wore this yesterday to work, we had a meeting in which I wanted to look pulled together and design-y. Really love these bootie wedges I got at Last Chance. Also showing off a new haircut.  So what’s my backdrop, what? New house paint y’all finally! Post coming soon!!
{Shirt: (Actually a long almost dress-like striped number that I tucked in) bought at last chance, Boots: Seychelles, $30 buy new here
Necklace: Etsy here,bide time” is one of Nick’s favorite sayings
Well, those are my outfits, the notable ones anyways. We’ll see what happens with this outfit posts, if you have any opinions on this please let me know! Have a great weekend!
