I’ve been searching for some art for our master bedroom for awhile, and when I saw this pin on pinterest I instantly loved it. Now to see if Nick would like it…and He did, we so often don’t agree, so it was must have been meant to be!
We decided to get the Voyages over Edinburgh Print in the Large size. Once it came, I was really impressed by the quality of the print. I was worried since we rarely get art from online. (Usually they are from yard sales, thrift stores and the Plaza!)
Now to frame it: I didn’t love the white border of paper around the print, it disrupted the texture and made it look less unique, so I knew I wanted to cut that off. Then I had an idea to get some screws and nuts and sandwich the print between 2 sheets of Plexi and drill holes in the corners to affix to a back panel. I had gotten some reclaimed wood planks when our neighbors took their fence down.
Now, I fully intended to document the process of building this frame…however, Nick made the whole thing while I was at work and surprised me! Aw nuts, don’t ya just hate it when that happens?
I love how it turned out, the width of the boards act as matting and the Plexi and screws are minimally noticable
