Have you ever had one of those projects that takes a long time and once it’s done and you just have one last little step, that never gets done? Please say yes, so I won’t feel so crazy! This project has been done for about 8 months, I just never took pictures and posted on here! I know…terrible, anyways onto the project!!
Some dear friends of ours got married in April and then immediately went to live in Canada for several months due to his job. Which sucked but, gave me ample time to work on their wedding present with my dear friend Jen. The idea originated from this memory game that Denise (the bride) taught me, it goes like this…
Repeat after me…
1 hen
1 hen, 2 ducks
1 hen, 2 ducks 3 squawking geese
and it progresses up to ten, with each number getting more and more complex. So we divised our own but using facts from their engagement and relationship to come up with this fun poster.
It was a lot of work but I love how it turned it, it’s colorful and whimsical and really tells a story
(although there may not have been eight woodpeckers, creative liberty right? there could have been…;)
The map is one of my favorites, this poor couple, with the long distance relationship
I based the last illustration off of two of their wedding pictures
After the ceremony they all wore sunglasses on the way down, how cute is that?!
Whew, last phase of this project completed, now I can flat file them away :)
until next sporadic post…
