I love jewelry and I especially love using unconventional materials or inexpensive(cheap) materials. This project incorporated all three! I cannot take any credit however, the lovely blog “honestly…wtf” thought up this tutorial after seeing this lux bracelet by Philip Crangi’s Giles & Brother Hex Collection.
I found the tutorial super easy to use, I just went to home depot, got a bundle of white string and a few small orange bags of brass hex nuts, the tutorial said 18, I added a few more and did 22, I wanted the nuts to totally cover the top half of my wrist. The key in following the tutorial is to add a nut before every cross over (which it said…but I got a little confused ;)) also keep it really tight, once it gets even a little loose it gets wonky.
Another change I made was to continue braiding the string so the other loop is braided instead of loose.
And I saved a nut to use in the closure
Perfect metallic/industrial addition to an everyday outfit! I really like how it turned out!
