Last night we finally finished the long drawn out process of putting away our Christmas decorations, Late, I know. But the first week of January was crazy busy and last Monday was when the process began, I started with the dried pine branches by the candles, (figured that was a logical first step) the rest of last week was packing up the decor andtaking ornaments off the tree, Monday was getting the tree out the door (better late than never as far as Weekend Honey-do lists go) and yesterday, out with the boxes. So now our mantle looks like this
Depressing, I know. I need to rethink some things, hmm…so before Christmas it looked like this
Not amazing, my Nambe collection and a few odds and ends, the candle holders could go back up, but I’m not loving the mirror anymore, it’s too boring…
Here are a few of my Favs from d*s (most have white mantles similar to mine)
I like Adrienne Labelle ‘s because she has a modern statement (the lamp) combined with the pop of color from the painting, I also like how she tied the colors of the painting into the room, that with a few eclectic chotchkies (which I have many of) and bam. Done
I like how Helen Palmer has an awesome clock as the focal point of her mantle, and a few misc accessories to balance it out. I’ve been toying with the idea of making a clock, I may have to rehash that thought…
Love, love this whole look! Emma Cassi is amazing. I love the black and white of the gallery collage, combined with the bright pop of red letters. love. The downside of myself implementing it is that I have tan walls and don’t wish to paint…hmm. Really like this look though
I like how Liz Demos used a series of similar pictures to achieve a more powerful statement. I don’t have that wow piece of art I want to stickup there. (unless any painters want to paint a portrait of Lilu, anyone? ;))
Well I have some good inspiration and a hauntingly blank slate, I’ll think of something! Take care all!, P.S. I apologize for my sporadic posting, one of my resolutions is to get on a schedule with everything in my life, Indignant Corgi included!
